Bring Your Strengths to Wellmark as a Corporate Communications Specialist!

This is an exciting time for Corporate Communications at Wellmark as we evolve the function into one that is strategic, intentional, and focused on protecting Wellmark's reputation and creating a culture of connection, curiosity and commitment.

In this role, you will be responsible for partnering in the implementation and measurement of internal communications strategies and plans across a broad range of communications channels to inform and engage Wellmark employees. This includes creating engaging and impactful content in brand voice, measuring performance, and applying learnings for ongoing optimization. You will be expected to foster and maintain relationships with key stakeholders as a strategic communications partner by establishing trust and credibility. Additionally, you will collaborate across the Corporate Communications function to build and protect Wellmark's reputation.

You are a skilled writer, with a strong understanding of the communications lifecycle and ability to execute communication plans within timelines and expectations. Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or direct and equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of internal communications or related experience, including a focus on copy writing and editing.
  • Excellent writing and content creation skills in alignment with AP Style. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to produce creative, engaging content that meets business/ stakeholder and customer needs.
  • Experience managing internal digital communications tools including email CRM systems (preferably Marketo) and intranet (preferably SharePoint).
  • Experience in gathering metrics and creating reports.
  • Strong communication, writing and editing skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to produce engaging content for varying internal and external audiences in accordance with brand guidelines.
  • Professional, polished and diplomatic in approach.
  • Willingness to serve as a customer advocate and help resolve conflict.
  • Strong planning, time management, prioritization and organization skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate relationships. Ability to give and take feedback in a constructive manner, and to foster cooperation and collaboration across teams.
  • Ability to stay up to speed on new trends and emerging platforms.
  • Proficiency utilizing the Microsoft Office suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other software applications.
  • Effective planning, time management, prioritization, and organization skills. Ability to measure, evaluate, and refine work processes and project elements in order to achieve organizational goals while maintaining customer and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Self-starter who can work well independently or as a member of a cross-functional team. Adaptable and flexible with changing priorities.
Additional Information

a. Deliver clear, concise, results-oriented communications for a variety of communication mediums aligned with brand voice and AP Style to drive employee awareness and engagement across all internal channels including intranet, e-newsletters, all employee, and all leader meetings, as well as additional digital and in-person channels.

b. Work with cross-functional teams to recommend and execute communications plans to help them achieve business objectives. Consult across the organization to scope, draft, and review content in support of the defined communication strategies.

c. Identify appropriate indicators that measure success of established communication strategies. Track metrics related to communication tactics and provide actionable reports and insights to stakeholders as needed.

d. Manage and prioritize multiple initiatives to deliver high-quality work on deadline.

e. Support internal stakeholder relationships by helping develop strategic communications plans and tactics.

f. Develop a strong understanding of Wellmark's products, services, and business, and be able to incorporate these into strategic communication plans.

g. Other duties as assigned.
