**Job Title: Production Operator** First shift only: 7am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday **Job Description** As a Production Operator, you will operate various presses to produce and process metallic friction materials used for brakes and clutches. Your role involves running machines to coat damaged materials to ensure correct hardness. You will also be trained to learn multiple department responsibilities and roles, while adhering to all applicable safety policies and procedures. Accurate reading of measurements is crucial to ensure the product meets quality standards. **Responsibilities** + Operate presses to produce and process metallic friction materials. + Run machines to coat damaged materials for correct hardness. + Train for multiple department responsibilities and roles. + Follow all safety policies and procedures. + Accurately read measurements to meet quality standards. **Essential Skills** + At least one year of previous manufacturing experience. + Proficiency in using micrometers and calipers. + Ability to read a tape measure. + Comfortable working with hand and power tools. + Ability to lift 50lbs throughout the shift. + Comfortable standing/working on feet for the entire shift. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Mechanically inclined. + Experience in production, machine operation, and press room. + Forklift operation skills. **Why Work Here?** Join a union company that offers a strong benefits package, including a $0.75 pay increase after being hired directly, with subsequent increases every 90 days. The facility can be dirty due to dealing with powders, so candidates are encouraged to bring a change of clothes. Training with an experienced operator will be provided for the first week. Be prepared to work overtime, with a 56-hour weekly schedule in the press room once hired directly. A locker and company uniforms will be available after training. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Akron, OH. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
