Shift
Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, weekends or evenings may be required by project work.
Job Summary
This is a 12-month to 18-month appointment with $50,000 – $55,000 annual salary and benefits. Renewal for a second year is contingent upon performance and funding availability.
We invite applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Scholar position in the Department of Community and Leadership Development at the University of Kentucky. This 12-to-18-month position will not require relocation to Lexington, KY.
This position offers the opportunity to engage in Extension and engagement evaluation and research in close collaboration with Dr. Lola Adedokun. Formally supervised by CLD Chair, Dr. Wes Harrison, the successful candidate will be responsible for data management, documentation, and analysis of quantitative (e.g., surveys) and qualitative (e.g., interviews) data; conducting literature reviews, drawing on peer-reviewed research and evaluation studies as well as policy documents; leading and co-authoring manuscripts, reports, and conference presentations; sharing emerging findings with Extension practitioners; mentoring graduate or undergraduate research assistants, as needed; and contributing to a collaborative research environment (e.g., attending regular meetings, communicating clearly in writing and orally, adaptability, etc.).
Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. in a relevant social science discipline (e.g., Sociology, Public Policy, Education, Anthropology, Political Science, or related fields), earned by the start date; a demonstrated expertise in qualitative research methods (e.g., interviews, ethnography, case studies, grounded theory); strong writing and communication skills; and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with qualitative data analysis software (e.g., NVivo, Dedoose, ATLAS.ti) and quantitative data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, AMOS); a publication record commensurate with career stage; and a demonstrated ability and interest in evaluating interdisciplinary/cross-disciplinary programs that may require the candidate to learn and be familiar with literature in other disciplines.
Appointment Details:
This is a 12-month to 18-month appointment with an annual salary of $50,000 – $55,000 plus benefits. Renewal for a second year is contingent upon performance and funding availability.
