Role

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations - US, the legal counsel will provide comprehensive legal support to Rising Edge Group's operations in the United States. This position involves advising on various legal matters, managing contracts, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and mitigating legal risks for the organization. The ideal candidate will have expertise in business law, contract negotiation, and familiarity with regulatory requirements relevant to our industry

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal guidance on a wide range of corporate matters, including contracts, employment issues, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to protect the interests of the company.

  • Conduct legal research to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

  • Develop and implement corporate policies and procedures related to legal matters to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.

  • Advise senior management on legal risks and implications of business decisions and strategies.

  • Assist in managing litigation and disputes, including working with external counsel as necessary.

  • Stay current on legal developments and changes in relevant laws affecting the business.

  • Provide training and resources to staff regarding legal compliance and best practices.

  • Support the business development team by advising on legal aspects of joint ventures and partnerships.

  • Contribute to the improvement of legal processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the United States.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as in-house counsel or in a law firm, with a focus on corporate law and commercial contracts.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, employment law, and contract law.
  • Excellent negotiation and drafting skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in the energy, construction, or engineering sectors is a plus.
