International Gourmet Foods, Inc. (IGF) services restaurants, gourmet markets, clubs, caterers, bakeries, country clubs, breweries, wineries, and hotels throughout the eastern United States. The Shipping Warehouse Associate is responsible for pulling orders, doing inventory checks, and loading pallets and trucks for delivery to IGF customers using a pick list and load sheet system. They must also be a motivated and detail-oriented in completing their daily tasks accurately and safely.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work independently using a “pick list” to “pull,” or select, product located throughout a 90,000 square-foot warehouse that includes three temperature zones (dry/refrigerated/frozen)
File and/or retrieve loading and picking documents
Bring product to the assigned loading door; diligently plan, organize, sort, and stage products for loading
Work with team members at the loading doors to
Verify product accuracy
Check for damages
Document weights for weighted items
Document expiration dates where required
Stage product for loading
Work with team members at the doors to arrange, and often palletize, orders and then load them onto trucks
Return any mis-picked product to the correct location
Assist in other areas of the warehouse as necessary, especially cleaning at the end of shift and participating in rotating trash duty
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Comply with all safety requirements
Report equipment maintenance to appropriate personnel
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications (Required)
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume shipping environment
Experience with powered/motorized warehouse equipment (manual and electric pallet jacks)
Proactive, quick-thinking, problem-solving approach to work
Strong attention to detail and solid written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to build and maintain relationships and work with cross-functional teams and departments
Qualifications (Preferred)
3 to 5 years of related warehouse/distribution experience
Previous food distribution experience
Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Dynamics, Excel, and Word) and other tech skills, including use of email, multi-line phone system, and text
Bilingual
Physical Requirements
Must be able to perform all shipping shift activities (pulling, checking, loading, and cleaning)
Must be able to sustain prolonged periods of standing and walking
Must be able to bend, lift (at least 55 lb.), stretch, and climb (including ladders)
Must be able to work across temperature zones (dry/refrigerated/frozen)
Requires bending, sitting, standing, walking, use of hands, arms, legs, eyes, and voice
