Description:

We are seeking a Registered Nurse Training Instructor to teach the approved Home Health Aide (HHA) and Personal Care Aide (PCA) training curriculum at our Staten Island Training School. This individual will play a key role in preparing future caregivers by providing high-quality instruction and education.

When classes are not in session, the Training Instructor will also conduct educational in-services for our existing HHAs and PCAs and administer competency evaluations.

Schedule:
  • Monday-Thursday: 8AM-6PM.
  • Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays: OFF.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach the HHA/PCA training curriculum in accordance with all regulations and company policies.
  • Supervise students and provide related instruction.
  • Proctor and grade tests, ensuring proper documentation of student progress.
  • Prepare and submit lesson plans, course objectives, and student performance evaluations.
  • Conduct educational in-services for current staff when training classes are not in session.
  • Perform competency evaluations for HHAs/PCAs.
  • Assist with other training-related duties as requested by the Director, Program Coordinator, or Management.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • BSN Degree in Nursing.
  • NYS Licensed & Registered (in good standing) as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience in New York.
  • Minimum 1 year of direct patient care experience as an RN at either a CHHA, LHCSA, or Hospice Program.
  • Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred (but not required).

Training will be provided at our office in Gravesend Brooklyn -- however position itself will be located at our Staten Island Training School - located across from the St George Ferry Terminal.
