Job Summary:

Sign-on Bonus: Eligible external candidates may qualify for a sign-on bonus with a two-year employment commitment to the position.

As a Radiation Therapist Technician, you will provide prescribed radiation therapy to patients of all age groups.

You will deliver the doses of radiation therapy, position patients, explain the procedure, and answer any questions.

You will work with physicists, dosimetrists, nursing staff and physicians during treatment to ensure the best patient care. You will also coordinate support services like social work and dietary.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Age-Appropriate Care: Applies the necessary knowledge and skills to provide care to patients across all age groups (infant, pediatric, adult, and geriatric).

• Patient Sensitivity and Competence: Demonstrates sensitivity to the physical, emotional, and socio-psychological needs of all patients while delivering care.

• Radiation Therapy Administration: Delivers prescribed doses of radiation therapy, positions patients, answers questions, and explains procedures as needed.

• Collaboration and Coordination: Works with physicists, dosimetrists, nursing staff, and physicians during treatment, coordinating support services like social work and dietary.

• Safety and Quality Assurance: Maintains department policies, quality assurance programs, and safety standards, and participates in process improvement efforts.

REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Associate degree in Radiation Therapy

• License: Ohio Radiologic License required to work in Ohio

• Certification: ARRT, CPR

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Bachelors of Radiation Therapy

• Skills: Knowledge of Varian equipment/software, EPIC

• Years of Experience: 1+ year as a working RT; Simulation experience.

• License: Ohio Radiologic License

• ARRT certified and Ohio licensed; 1+ year experience preferred

• Experience with:

  • Varian TrueBeam, 6-DoF couch

  • Aria, Eclipse with Radformation

  • SBRT/SRS and in-house simulation

  • Varian HDR brachytherapy (preferred)

• Works well with the interdisciplinary care team

• Maintains high safety, quality, and patient-care standards

The Department of Radiation Oncology at the ProMedica Cancer Institute has a long history of providing exceptional patient care at multiple community locations within Northern Ohio and Southeast Michigan. Our physicians have been providing care at this location for 30 plus years. The Institute is ACR accredited and offers full radiation oncology services. The available full-time position will be at one of our community practices, located in Fremont, Ohio, ProMedica Memorial Hospital has served the citizens of Sandusky County and the adjacent communities since 1918. In fact, our hospital was built with funds raised by members of our community on land donated by the family of former United States President, Rutherford B. Hayesin. Just over an hour from Cleveland. ProMedica is also seeking another full-time position in our community practice sites in Sylvania, Ohio, just 30 minutes from Ann Arbor Michigan ranked # 14th in U.S. News and World Report best places to live in 2023 & 2024.
