Job Description

Overview
This leadership role oversees daily operations within a production facility, ensuring team effectiveness, safety, and efficiency on the manufacturing floor. The position involves coordinating tasks, enforcing operational protocols, mentoring team members, and proposing enhancements to workflow, tooling, and procedural strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clearly define and communicate expectations related to safety, quality, efficiency, and workplace cleanliness to all production staff.

  • Promote a positive and professional work environment, including coaching and employee development initiatives.

  • Support and manage training programs in partnership with team leads.

  • Strive to maintain a balance between output quality, operational cost, productivity, and employee well-being.

  • Track departmental KPIs and report progress to senior management.

  • Monitor and maintain material and product inventory to ensure uninterrupted production flow.

  • Organize departmental priorities and respond to shifting demands as needed.

  • Conduct yearly performance evaluations for team members.

  • Manage attendance records and oversee employee time-tracking systems.

  • Operate CNC machinery when coverage is needed.

Team Leadership Scope
This position is directly responsible for managing the personnel within the department, including their training, performance, and day-to-day supervision.

Work Schedule
This is a full-time, hourly role. Regular hours typically range from 45 to 55 hours per week, depending on production demands.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; post-secondary education preferred

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a machining or high-precision manufacturing setting

  • Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or team leadership capacity

  • Familiarity with manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and production flows

  • Solid understanding of quality standards, inspection tools, and detailed production processes

  • Must follow strict safety guidelines, including the use of PPE at all times
