Job Description

Agility Partners is seeking a qualified Junior Data Engineer to fill an open position with one of our clients. This is an exciting opportunity for an earlycareer professional to build realworld data skills in a supportive, fastpaced environment. Youll work closely with senior engineers and analysts, primarily using SQL to query, clean, and prepare data that powers reporting and analytics.
Responsibilities
Assist with writing and optimizing SQL queries to support reporting and adhoc data requests
Help create basic database objects (tables, views) and maintain data dictionaries and documentation
Support routine data quality checks (duplicates, nulls, referential integrity) and simple SQLbased transformations
Participate in loading data into staging tables and preparing datasets for downstream use
Troubleshoot query issues (e.g., incorrect results, slow performance) with guidance from senior engineers
Collaborate with analytics teams to validate results and ensure datasets meet business needs
The Ideal Candidate
Foundational SQL proficiency: comfortable writing basic queries and joins; curiosity to learn window functions and indexing
Understanding of relational database concepts (keys, normalization vs. denormalization)
02 years of professional experience (or internship/capstone/bootcamp projects); recent grads welcome
Detailoriented, coachable, and comfortable asking questions and working through feedback
Able to document work clearly and communicate findings to nontechnical stakeholders
Bonus (not required): exposure to Excel/Google Sheets or a BI tool (Power BI/Tableau), and interest in learning simple ETL concepts
