Provides leadership and professional technical support for all Clerk’s Office functions, including processing criminal, civil, probate, CINA, and minor offense cases; ensuring efficient case flow, accurate records, jury management, in-court procedures, customer service, warrants, and financial collections. Ensures compliance with Alaska Rules of Court and 1st District policies; manages and reports on case flow and court performance metrics; reviews and implements statutes, rules, and procedures; trains staff; serves as Probate Registrar; processes appeals and CINA cases; and provides coverage for Judicial Assistant duties as needed.
Responsible for allocating work; preparing and updating position descriptions; recruiting, hiring, training, counseling, evaluating, disciplining, and terminating a clerical staff of three; monitoring compliance with all applicable administrative and personnel rules and policies; and planning and conducting weekly staff meetings to enhance staff knowledge, skills, morale, and effective communication within the Sitka court. Work Hours This position works in-person at the Sitka court and is not a remote position. Full-time court employees are scheduled to work 37.5-hours per week.
