Basic Job Functions: Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. This is an on-site, non-remote position.

PURPOSE:

Detail commercial and civil projects as they pertain to the supply and installation of rebar using 3D software.

BASIC FUNCTIONS

• Must adhere to Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s safety programs and standards.
• Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s vision and values.
• Ability to independently detail, model, and coordinate moderately complex small projects
• Develop skills with Tekla and other 3D-based modeling systems.
• Verify drawings, dates, specification, addenda and other contractual information from routing sheet or direct from Business system.
• Identify and develop information required to inform the customer of any changes to the contract. Work with little supervision to address changes with customer, produce change-order documents and enter into Business system.
• Detail/model: accessories, mesh, couplers and dowel bars and prepare material lists as required.
• Work with job site personnel to determine project requirements for both detailing and delivery of material.
• Communicate with A/E, steel placer and customer on all questions relating to project.
• Address Contract Adds and Deducts – include supervisor for more complex requirements
• Generate required reports in Business System to assist in management of project(s).
• Enter all drawings for submission in drawing tracking system.
• Perform other duties as required by your supervisorMinimum Qualifications:
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• Vocational certificate in CAD design/drafting issued from an accredited school or college or equivalent combination of training and work experience.Preferred Qualifications:
• Approximately 18 months of experience as a Rebar Detailer with Nucor Rebar Fabrication Detailing System
• Prior experience with 3D software (Revit, Solidworks, Sketchup, etc…)
• Working knowledge of industry reference material (CRSI and ACI)

SPECIAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to work overtime when required
• Some international travel may be required for training on product

• Using hands to operate objects, tools, computers and other electronic equipment
• Lifting/handling computers and related equipment
• Vision abilities including close vision and adjusting focus
• Moderate noise level
